Decorating Your House with Bamboo Rugs

Lucky bamboo is not a type of bamboo at all, but a houseplant related to the lily, which is native to the rainforests of Southeast Asia. Human beings have been using the bamboo plant for thousands of years in everything from holistic medicine to shelter. Why not bring balance and harmony into your home — and your life — by decorating with rugs made from bamboo?

Bamboo has an underground scheme!

Bamboo is a flowering perennial evergreen plant in the grass family. The Giant Bamboo is one of the fastest-growing plants in the world.

A unique rhizome-dependent system delivers nutrients and water to the bamboo canes above the soil level. This underground stem network delivers very quickly and allows for fast growth. In fact, in some climates this plant can grow three to four feet per day.

Bamboo is harvested every three to five years. It is abundant in nature, biodegradable and requires far less water than hardwood in order to grow. Your bamboo rugs are good for you, as well as for our rug cleaning facility.

Bamboo Economics

The economic impact of bamboo harvesting and processing for rugs, carpets, wood floors, building materials and other commercial use effects more than 2.5 billion people around the world.  Rug manufactures have been extracting bamboo cellulose from the woody material and using those cellulose fibers in a variety of textile products including carpets.

Bamboo cellulose fibers behave a lot like rayon, but are less flexible. Unlike other natural fiber rugs made of Sisal or Seagrass, Bamboo is not as easily damaged by moisture. You can use it in kitchens and bathrooms knowing that if you spill water, it can be wiped off with no worries. Direct sunlight will fade any rug, including Bamboo, so make sure to rotate your carpet occasionally.
